THE LOBBYGood Art Looks Good Anywhere
May 14 - September 10, 2009 63 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA was built 150 years ago as a Catholic school. The building currently houses a number of small businesses and has no art in the lobby. On May 14th that will change as we open The Lobby, a curatorial collaboration. The Lobby brings the work of 13 contemporary artists (see list below) out of the gallery and into the small reception space at 63 Pleasant Street. Our mission . . . to exhibit art in places where art isn't usually seen (lobbies, hallways, staircases, storefronts, etc.), defies the norm in these spaces where posters and prints often serve the role of making the environment more inviting. Installing among lobby staples such as the elevator, the directory and the firebox, bk projects and OH Projects are pleased to present an exhibition of drawings, paintings, prints and photographs. The work of several of the artists in the exhibition has been seen at Allston Skirt Gallery or O•H+T Gallery in Boston. Please join us at 63 Pleasant Street for the opening reception of The Lobby. Featuring work by: Alex Lukas, Laura Chasman, Remi Thornton, Roberta Paul, Michael Dumontier, Celine McDonald, Kyong Ae Kim, John Guthrie, Kathleen O'Hara, Paul Butler, Christy Cornett, Erica Greenwald, Matt Rich |
